We serve individuals with Maryland Medicaid who identify as men and are interested in breaking the vicious cycle of detox, rehab, relapse. We address the whole person, not just the addiction. Our goal is for our clients to return to their community healthy, resilient, and as productive members of society.
The ASAM 3.1 level of care provides low-intensity residential services. Our program requires that each client attend a minimum of 5 mutual aid groups, 5 hours of life skills classes, 4 psychoeducational groups, and 1 counseling session weekly. Clients living at The Ranch benefit from an environment focused on teaching recovery and life skills, relapse prevention, emotional coping strategies, and more.
The Ranch actually began in 1974 as a youth ranch sponsored by the Maryland Sheriff’s Association. For decades at-risk youth were offered a safe and supportive home where they could learn the skills necessary for adulthood.
In 2015 the mission changed, and The Ranch was born. Its new mission is to provide a clean and sober living environment with high quality clinical and life-skills services for adult men with substance use disorders. Our residents receive therapy by trained and qualified professionals on a weekly basis in an environment which supports them with an individualized “wrap around” program to guide them as they change their lives. The goal is for each individual to learn the life skills needed for leading a healthy life as a contributing member of the community. The Ranch is accredited by the Joint Commission.
What makes our services so effective is our use of the concept of the 8 Dimensions of Wellness to address the whole person. Other programs predominantly focus on the substance use behaviors without fully addressing all the other pieces to the puzzle that make up each unique client. Our successful graduates have all developed each dimension to meet their unique goals and needs.
I’m here writing this today to just kind of give an example of a good facility with people that actually care about us getting better. I assure you that for someone like me, this is the best. I came here such a broken-down man with no self-confidence or self-esteem after 50 overdoses and 9 heart attacks and now I have put myself back in school to get my high school diploma and I’m even going further than that. So, if yourself or a loved one is struggling with this demon do you really want to change and better yourself? If so, reach out to these people. I absolutely trust them to help anyone I care about or love.
Sincerely,
A Very Grateful Client
